On Monday, Oct. 31, Wisler Pearlstine Partner Justin M. O’Donoghue will co-present a Right-To-Know update at the School Law Workshop during The Pennsylvania Association of School Administrators (PASA) and Pennsylvania School Boards Association’s (PSBA) School Leadership Conference.
As school districts throughout the commonwealth receive and respond to requests for public records on a daily basis, Mr. O’Donoghue’s presentation will offer a comprehensive review of the requirements under the Right-To-Know Law (RTKL) for release of records in an educational setting. This review will cover what types of records are exempt from public disclosure under the RTKL, as well as records that are protected or, in some cases, prohibited from disclosure under a separate statute, privilege or the Pennsylvania Constitution. Important updates will include recent case law impacting the obligations of school districts, procedures and resources for handling appeals filed with the Office of Open Records, and more.
This multiday conference is for school leaders from across the commonwealth, offering informational and inspiring content, providing learning and networking opportunities, and sharing products and services offerings. For more information, visit here.
