  • Disputes over rights in and ownership of residential and commercial real estate (including commercial landlord-tenant disputes);

  • Disputes between co-owners/shareholders of businesses (colloquially termed “business divorces”); and

Villari, Kusturiss, Brandes & Kline, P.C., et al., Montgomery County Court of Common Pleas, Docket No. 2007-01476 – In a commercial dispute between two law firms over referral fees and claimed violations of the Lanham Act, obtained six-figure sanctions award against opposing party who violated court order respecting the conduct of an arbitration between the parties, requiring the violator to pay attorneys’ fees incurred by client as a result of the violation (Oct. 2023).
  • Landcore Engineering Consultants, P.C. v. Iroy Sports, LLC, Montgomery County Court of Common Pleas, Docket No. 2021-15697 – Obtained summary judgment for six-figure amount on behalf of engineering firm whose former client refused to pay invoices for professional services rendered on abandoned development project (May 2023).
  • Orozcodontics, P.C. v. Top of the Hill Plaza Partners, L.P., Philadelphia County Court of Common Pleas, Docket No. 200802247 – Obtained summary judgment on liability on behalf of commercial tenant in litigation against its former landlord on tenant’s claim that landlord had prematurely demanded that tenant leave premises, despite tenant’s timely exercise of its option to renew lease for commercial office space for another five-year term (Dec. 2022).
  • Siegel v. Goldstein, et al., United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, No. 20-3550 – Successfully obtained reversal of decision of the United States District Court for Eastern District of Pennsylvania that had erroneously dismissed client’s claims for injunction, breach of fiduciary duty, and oppression of a minority shareholder arising out of cancellation of client’s shares of stock in dental practice, a Pennsylvania professional corporation (Jun. 2022).
  • Maduka v. Tropical Naturals, Ltd., 409 F.Supp.3d 337 (E.D.Pa. 2019) – Obtained permanent, nationwide injunction on behalf of client in a trademark dispute over the branding of soap and body care products, thus awarding the client exclusive rights to use the trademark in question throughout the United States (Sep. 2019).
  • In re Schaffer, United States Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, No. 18-18133 – Successfully obtained relief from bankruptcy automatic stay on behalf of unsecured creditors in Chapter 11 case, after proving debtor commenced bankruptcy in bad faith (March 2019) and obtained affirmance of ruling on appeal to the District Court (Oct. 2019) and Third Circuit (Jan. 2020).
  • Shamsmehr v. Shamsmehr, et al., New Jersey Superior Court for Burlington County, Chancery Division, Docket No. C-31-17 – Prevailed in bench trial concerning dispute over ownership of residential real estate and claim for money damages arising out of expenses paid in connection with real estate in question (Jun. 2018).
  • Transo-Pharm USA, LLC v. Carbomer, Inc., Montgomery County Court of Common Pleas, Docket No. 2012-01863 – Successfully obtained jury verdict for money damages for client in breach of contract case regarding sale of bulk chemical used in pharmaceutical manufacturing (Feb. 2018).
  • Thomas Lodise v. Aspen Mill, et al., Montgomery County Court of Common Pleas, Docket No. 2012-24791 – Successfully obtained jury verdict (Aug. 2017) and subsequent award of attorneys’ fees (Oct. 2017) for client under Unfair Trade Practices and Consumer Protection Law in a residential construction defect case. Thereafter, successfully upheld trial court’s decision on opposing parties’ appeal to Pennsylvania Superior Court (Sep. 2018).
  • Leaman v. Wolfe, 629 Fed.Appx. 280 (3rd Cir. 2015) – Successfully obtained reversal from Third Circuit Court of Appeals of prior ruling by United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, subsequently leading to money judgment in client’s favor for interest and attorneys’ fees for late payments made under payment installment agreement.
  • In re Green Goblin, Inc., 470 B.R. 739 (Bankr.E.D.Pa. 2012) – Published decision of victory on behalf of client in Adversary Proceeding in United States Bankruptcy Court for alleged wrongful foreclosure of a commercial mortgage.
