Associate Attorney Savannah M. Figueroa. Esq., MSW, was invited to serve as alumni speaker at the 30th annual commencement ceremony of her alma mater, The Charter School of Wilmington, on Friday, May 29, 2026. A nationally and internationally recognized college-preparatory math and science high school, CSW promotes academic excellence by fostering overall student performance to produce leaders for the future.
A proud graduate of the Class of 2010, Ms. Figueroa spoke of her time at Charter and how it helped shape her into the person she is today. There, she said, she met lifelong mentors and forever teachers of life who still support her to this day, urging students to cherish the bonds they formed in high school.
“For those of you who have built strong relationships with teachers, administrators, or staff here, hold onto those relationships, ” said Ms. Figueroa. “They will be there for you through your next adventure, when you fall in love, when you meet your own children someday and through life’s challenges.”
She reminded students that sometimes our failures become the foundation of our greatest accomplishments.
“Whether you are entering college, joining the service, starting your own business, or honestly still figuring things out — and that is completely okay — this is the moment where you begin to visualize your future,” said Ms. Figueroa. “What matters is hard work. Effort. Resilience. Flexibility. The ability to keep going when things get difficult.”
Most of all, her message was this, “Don’t let the anxiety of darkness derail you from your greatness,” a mantra Ms. Figueroa penned and lives by. She is honored to have shared in this magnificent and meaningful milestone with the 236 graduates, their teachers, administrators, staff, and families.
On behalf of Ms. Figueroa, and all of us here at Wisler Pearlstine, congratulations to The Charter School of Wilmington Class of 2026!
