His trial experience is particularly valuable to clients, enabling him to advise companies and individuals on how to avoid costly and consuming litigation.

A former Director of the Montgomery Bar Association, Mr. Clement is a member of the Montgomery, Pennsylvania, Wyoming, and American Bar Associations. A graduate of Pennsylvania State University (B.A. 1971), Mr. Clement received his law degree, cum laude, from Northwestern University School of Law (J.D. 1974).

Real Estate

  • Mr. Clement’s clients include a wide range of land owners and developers who have sought his assistance in connection with housing, shopping centers, industrial property, and office complex transactions. These matters include:
    • Residential developments, including changes of zoning and variances: successfully obtained a change of zoning and variance for a client yielding three times the number of housing units for which the land was originally zoned;
    • Large apartment complex developments: successfully represented a developer who converted an antiquated supermarket occupying land in two separate municipalities into 320 apartment units plus over 100,000 square feet of office space;
    • Adaptive reuse of industrial properties: obtained approval to convert a 4‑story warehouse into over 70 residential living units;
    • Shopping center developments: in less than six months, completed a transaction transferring approximately 50 acres of land to the owner of one of the largest outlet malls in Pennsylvania, containing over 500,000 square feet of stores; and
    • Office complexes: successfully created and/or documented office condominiums for single buildings and multiple building complexes.
    • Zoning challenges: successfully challenged validity of zoning ordinances in Pennsylvania and Wyoming.

Banking

  • Mr. Clement assists banks and borrowers in connection with commercial loan transactions involving both asset lending and real estate lending. Mr. Clement is a member of the Board of Directors of The Bryn Mawr Trust Company and The Bryn Mawr Trust Company of Delaware.

Litigation

  • Mr. Clement has experience handling jury and bench trials in the Pennsylvania Commonwealth Courts, New Jersey State Courts, Wyoming State Courts, and the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.
Personal Interests
  • Mr. Clement thoroughly enjoys spending time with his family. Although he relishes the give-and-take and satisfaction of the practice of law and the development of real estate, Mr. Clement also enjoys reading, especially historical novels, and writing short pieces. He also enjoys outdoor activities including biking, hiking, skiing, and fishing. His favorite locale is Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Mr. Clement proudly supports the Travis Manion Foundation.
