Kelsey N. Scarlett investigates discrimination and harassment claims involving Title IX and other forms of misconduct in independent schools, public schools and institutions of higher education. With a background in general education and labor and employment issues, Ms. Scarlett brings an ability to synthesize complex matters to her work and to neutrally investigate intricate and sensitive matters with discretion and efficiency.

Providing guidance to educational institutions in matters involving employment counseling, policy drafting and review, the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), and student and employee discipline, Ms. Scarlett regularly attends Title IX seminars and has received ATIXA training.

Ms. Scarlett also counsels boards of education in contract negotiations, policy drafting, and in responding to Office for Civil Rights complaints.

Personal Interests

When not practicing law, Ms. Scarlett enjoys reading, watching movies, the beach and spending time with her husband and two cats.
