Mr. Clement is known as an attorney to consult in Montgomery County for banking, real estate and litigation matters.  A business lawyer who understands the challenges companies face today, Mr. Clement’s advice is sought after by clients who want to work with a lawyer who has been “in the business trenches himself.”  He has experience owning and managing business ventures and has substantial trial experience.  His trial experience is particularly valuable to clients because it enables him to advise companies and individuals how to avoid costly and consuming litigation.

In the real estate area, Mr. Clement’s clients include a wide range of land owners and developers who have sought his assistance in connection with housing, shopping centers, industrial property and office complex transactions including:

  • Residential developments, including changes of zoning and variances:  successfully obtained a change of zoning and variances for a client yielding three times the number of housing units for which the land was originally zoned;
  • Large apartment complex developments:  successfully represented a developer who converted an antiquated supermarket occupying land in two separate municipalities into 320 apartment units plus over 100,000 s.f. of office space;
  • Adaptive reuse of industrial properties:  recently obtained approval to convert a 4‑story warehouse into over 70 residential living units;
  • Shopping center developments:  in less than six months, completed a transaction transferring approximately 50 acres of land to the owner of one of the largest outlet malls in Pennsylvania, containing over 500,000 s.f. of stores; and
  • Office complexes:  successfully created and/or documented office condominiums for single buildings and multiple building complexes.

In the banking arena, Mr. Clement assists banks and borrowers in connection with commercial loan transactions involving both asset lending and real estate lending.  Mr. Clement is a member of the Board of Directors of Continental Bank.

A skilled litigator, Mr. Clement has experience handling jury trials and commercial and personal injury litigation in the Pennsylvania State Courts, New Jersey State Courts, and the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.

A former Director of the Montgomery Bar Association, Mr. Clement is a member of the Montgomery, Pennsylvania and American Bar Associations.  A graduate of Pennsylvania State University (B.A. 1971), Mr. Clement received his law degree, cum laude, from Northwestern University School of Law (J.D. 1974).
