Shonti F. Tager is a member of the firm’s Real Estate, Zoning, and Land Development practice group. Mr. Tager handles a wide range of zoning, land use, and transactional matters on behalf of corporate and individual clients, including applications to zoning hearing boards for variances and special exceptions, applications to municipal governing bodies for conditional uses, subdivisions to create new building lots, new land development projects, and transactional work related to the preparation of agreements of sale, deeds and easements, and declarations.
Prior to joining Wisler Pearlstine, Mr. Tager worked in the New Jersey Superior Court’s Appellate Division where he served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Thomas W. Sumners, Jr. He is a member of the Mercer County Bar Association and Bucks County Bar Association.
Mr. Tager was born and raised in Eugene, Oregon, where he was a standout baseball and football player in high school. He was recruited to play football at Southern Oregon University and graduated from the school with a degree in communications with an emphasis in journalism. Following college, Mr. Tager worked as television reporter and anchor for KOTA-TV in Rapid City, South Dakota and WGXA-TV in Macon, Georgia, covering local and state politics, crime, and the courts. He also worked as a writer and producer for WSVN and WTVJ in Miami, Florida.
After a successful career in journalism, Mr. Tager enrolled at Rutgers Law School in Camden, New Jersey, where he was selected to compete in the Hunter Moot Court Competition and elected to serve as Editor-in-Chief of the Rutgers Journal of Law & Public Policy. During law school, he provided more than 100 hours of pro bono legal services to the surrounding community earning the Dean’s Pro Bono Publico Award.
When not practicing law, Mr. Tager enjoys hiking and disc golf.
