FAMILY LAW

The Family Law Department handles divorce, equitable distribution of property (including business entities and real estate), child custody, child support, spousal support, and alimony. This department also prepares and reviews prenuptial agreements. In addition, we provide practical guidance and support for clients who may not be certain that divorce is the appropriate next step for them, but who wish to be thoroughly informed about their legal rights and options. Working closely with our estate planning and tax attorneys, we offer counseling to older clients regarding the family law implications of passing their wealth to the next generation. We also provide support to our colleagues in the business practice group with regard to the family law implications of their clients' business planning.

Our attorneys are very active in the Pennsylvania Bar Association, the Montgomery Bar Association, and the Pennsylvania Bar Institute, serving as local and state-wide lecturers who train other attorneys in the practice of family law. One of the partners in our department is a Fellow in the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers.

While both of the attorneys in this department are experienced trial lawyers, we recognize that negotiation and conflict resolution skills are equally important to bringing about a successful outcome for our clients. We know that our clients want a strong advocate who can help them to attain their goals; they do not want a financially and emotionally draining result that does not serve the best interests of them or their children.
