Ms. Grubbs concentrates her practice in labor and employment law and employee benefits. She counsels both public and private employers in day-to-day labor and employment matters, including disability and family and medical leave issues, harassment training, employee manuals and policies, and litigation avoidance. Ms. Grubbs advises clients regarding employment contracts and severance agreements, as well as executive compensation issues, including section 409A of the Internal Revenue Code. She also represents employers in a variety of labor and employment-related matters in state and federal courts and before state and federal agencies.
Ms. Grubbs represents employers on matters relating to the design, administration, and taxation of health and other welfare benefit plans, tax qualified retirement plans, including pension, 401(k), and profit-sharing plans. She focuses on compliance with the statutory and regulatory rules relating to such plans, including ERISA and the Internal Revenue Code. Ms. Grubbs has assisted employers seeking approval under various government-sponsored voluntary correction programs, including the IRS Employee Plans Compliance Resolution System (EPCRS). She has also represented employers on ERISA litigation matters, including benefit claims disputes.
Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Grubbs practiced employee benefits law at major law firms in Philadelphia. In law school she was editor-in-chief of the Temple Law Review and served as a judicial intern for the Honorable Dolores K. Sloviter, U.S. Court of Appeals, Third Circuit.
