Ms. Huot concentrates her practice in the area of School Law. She has focused on this area for 10 years, representing school districts, charter schools and educational management organizations, particularly in the areas of special education and student rights. She advises clients in many aspects of school law and special education law, including representation in administrative proceedings, appeals and litigation in state and federal court. She regularly makes legal presentations to school district clients and at various school law seminars, prepares written materials and plans and presents at seminars regarding school law matters. Ms. Huot has extensive experience in general litigation, having tried cases to verdict in federal and state courts in Pennsylvania. A graduate of Widener University Law School, Ms. Huot has a degree in History and French from the College of St. Catherine.
Representative Matters:
- Represented school districts clients in over 60 due process hearings concerning a variety of issues, including IDEA issues such as compensatory education, tuition reimbursement and discipline, alleged Section 504 violations and gifted issues.
- Successfully represented school district clients in appeals of special education matters to the U.S. District Court of the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, Third Circuit Court of Appeals, and the Commonwealth Court of Pennsylvania.
- Represented educational management organizations in contract negotiations with the School District of Philadelphia, with regard to delivery of special education services.
- Successfully represented school district in due process hearing in which parent requested a virtually peanut free environment for their child.

Ms. Huot is active in the parents’ association at her children’s school and served as the president of the Norwood-Fontbonne Academy Parents Association in 2009-2010. She is also involved in numerous service activities at St. Vincent de Paul Parish in Philadelphia.
