On April 25, 2012, Adam Fernandez, Bob Fernandez and Mike Clement, attorneys in the firm’s estate planning and business/corporate/tax practice groups, presented a lunch and learn seminar to wealth management experts at Boenning & Scattergood’s West Conshohocken offices. Boenning & Scattergood is one of the area’s leading independent full-service securities, asset management and investment banking firms. Their talk covered important “best practices” for financial planners assisting clients with estate planning issues, including the importance of beneficiary designations in the estate planning context. The feedback received from the standing-room-only attendees was very positive.

Mark Hosterman and Joe Clement Present Training Session to Lansdale Elected and Appointed Officials on Sunshine Act, Right to Know Law and State Ethics Act

Mark Hosterman and Joe Clement presented a two-hour training session on March 26 to Lansdale elected and appointed officials. Mr. Clement focused on the role of the Sunshine Act in promoting open meetings and the recent court decisions under the Right to Know Law which make emails sent or received from personal email accounts public documents when used for agency business. Mr. Hosterman focused his presentation on the applicability of the Ethics Acts and voting conflicts including discussion of numerous hypothetical voting conflicts that may be encountered in the borough setting.

On March 8, 2012, Justin M. O’Donoghue, a partner in the firm’s Education Law Practice Group, presented at the Pennsylvania Association of School Business Officials Annual Conference in Hershey, PA. Wisler Pearlstine, LLP, is pleased to announce that Megan Dalton has joined the firm. She is an associate in the firm’s Litigation Practice Group. Ms. Dalton’s primary practice area includes commercial litigation, with an emphasis on construction law, representing contractors, subcontractors, and various other parties in construction related matters. Ms. Dalton graduated in 2005 from Villanova University School of Law, magna cum laude, and received the Raynes, McCarty, Binder, Ross & Mundy Legal Writing Award for the Best First Year Brief. She received her undergraduate degree from Villanova University, summa cum laude, in 2002. Prior to joining Wisler Pearlstine, Ms. Dalton was an associate attorney in the litigation group at Tallman, Hudders & Sorrentino, P.C.
